+ What is the process?

1. Start with submitting an inquiry so I can gather all your wedding details and design inspiration.

5. Deposit and a signed contract are required to reserve your date.

+ How are cakes priced?

Cakes are priced per serving based on the intricacy of design elements. Currently, custom wedding cakes start at $9/serving. Minimum order amounts apply.

+ When should I order?

Louisa's Homemades is a one woman operated home bakery and accepts a limited number of orders per week. I recommend ordering your cake 8-12 months before your wedding date. Busy season dates (April-June | September-November) are always the first to book. Availability is not guaranteed and orders are booked first come first serve. Inquire now!

+ What if I need to change or cancel my order?

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to reserve your date. Changes to orders can be made up until one month before the wedding date, however there is no guarantee that changes will be accommodated. If cancellation becomes necessary, proper notification must be received by the date outlined in the contract.

+ How much cake should I order?

Cake servings are based on 1" x 2" x 5" slices. I recommend ordering at least 1 serving of cake per person. If you're ordering dessert bar items, I recommend 1-2 desserts per person.

+ Do you offer sheet cakes?

If you need additional servings to accommodate your guests, I offer kitchen cakes. These cakes are made the same as your wedding cake with three layers of cake and two layers of filling.

+ Do you deliver?

Yes! Delivery is required for large tiered cakes as they are assembled on site. The delivery fee includes transporting your cake to the venue, assembly, arrangement of florals, and topper placement. Minimum order amounts may apply for delivery.

+ Where are you located?

Louisa's Homemades is a home bakery located in Henrico, VA. I am licensed, insured, and inspected to ensure quality and customer safety. Documentation is available upon request.

+ What about flowers and cake stands?

If fresh flowers are a part of your design, I recommend working with your florist to purchase cake flowers. If preferred, I can provide flowers for an additional fee. Arrangement of florals on your cake is included in the delivery fee.

+ Do you offer cake tastings?

Yes! Tasting consultations are $40. This includes a tasting box with a dozen cupcakes and a phone consultation. You may select up to three custom flavor combinations for your tasting box. Tasting pick-up dates are pre-set each month. If you need to request an alternative date, a $15 convenience fee will apply. View the menu and schedule and tasting!

+ Do you offer other desserts?

+ Can you accommodate allergies?

I do offer gluten free, vegan, and nut free options, taking the utmost precautions to protect you and your guests. I do however use these common allergen products frequently in my kitchen and cannot guarantee cross contamination will not occur in the case of severe allergies. It is the client's responsibility to notify guests of allergen risks.
